What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way: it keeps data in your browser, but does not send it to the server on every visit.

What this site uses

The public pages of certiaholding.com do not set advertising or tracking cookies, whether our own or third-party, and they do not load social media pixels.

Strictly necessary cookies: only in the internal panel, to keep Certia staff signed in. They are httpOnly, so page code cannot read them. They are not set when you visit the public site.
Theme preference: if you use the button to switch between light and dark mode, your browser saves that choice in its local storage. It is not sent to Certia or anyone else, and if you never use the button nothing is saved.
Analytics: we do not use cookies to measure visits.
Advertising: we do not use advertising cookies.

How we measure visits without cookies

Measurement is our own and stores nothing on your device. For each visit we record the page, the site or campaign you came from, the approximate country and the device type.

To tell unique visits apart, we compute a pseudonym from technical connection data combined with a key that changes every day. The result cannot be reversed, and your visits on different days cannot be linked to each other. Your IP address is never stored in the statistics.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record your visit.

Ecuador's Organic Law on Personal Data Protection requires a legal basis to process personal data, and for cookies that are not necessary that basis would be your consent. Since the public pages use no cookies of that kind, there is nothing to accept or reject, so we do not show a banner.

If we ever add an optional cookie, we will update this policy and ask for your permission before turning it on.

Third-party sites

If you open WhatsApp, LinkedIn or another linked site, that site may use its own cookies under its own policies. Those cookies do not depend on Certia.

How to clear local storage

You can clear the theme preference at any time by deleting the data for certiaholding.com in your browser:

Chrome: open Settings, go to Privacy and security, find the option to see data stored by sites and delete the data for certiaholding.com.
Edge: open Settings, go to Cookies and site permissions, choose to manage and delete cookies and site data, and remove the data for certiaholding.com.
Firefox: open Settings, go to Privacy and Security and, under Cookies and Site Data, manage the data for certiaholding.com.
Safari on Mac: open Settings, go to Privacy, click Manage Website Data and remove certiaholding.com.
Safari on iPhone or iPad: open Settings, go to Safari, then Advanced and Website Data, and remove certiaholding.com.

You can also use a private browsing window: when you close it, the browser deletes whatever it saved. After the data is cleared, the site shows the default theme again.
